Kobo & eBook Store Launched

Borders launched sales of the Kobo readers, along with an eBook store, on their website today.  The biggest advantage of the Kobo so far seems to be price, however at $199.00, it’s close enough to the other eReaders that I don’t see price as the deciding factor in purchases.

The EB710 – The Mystery eReader?

eb710ereader sgSeveral sources are reporting a brand new ereader, the EB710, however, as of yet, no one is reporting the manufacturer, cost, and if it’s coming to the US soon.  But, looking at the pictures, it looks to be an excellent new eReader!

Going to the Beach?

Going to the beach on vacation this year?  If so, how many books are you planning to take with you?  As a perpetual reader, for a week, I might take three or four books, with visions of laying in my lounger under the umbrella reading them…  or you can just take your Kindle!

Instead of loading up on books from the bookstore, you can load up on digital “beach reads” and take your Kindle with you on vacation!  Not only can you easily read outside in bright sunlight, but you can read anywhere, in the hotel/condo, in the airport waiting for the plane… and the list goes on.  This year, picture yourself on the beach with your Kindle!

Google – Verizon Tablet Computer

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Google and Verizon have teamed up to create a tablet computer, running on Google’s OS and Verizon’s network, of course, that will rival the iPad.  This is also Verizon’s entry into the mobile service market for eReaders, tablet computers, etc., since AT&T has the contracts locked in for wireless service on the iPad and the Amazon Kindle

Google is definitely one to watch for the next tablet computer / eReader device!  Read the entire WSJ article here.

The Wall Street Journal said today that Google will begin selling ebooks this summer…now, one can only ask, is a Google eReader right behind?  We think so, and we’ll let you know as soon as we can confirm or disprove this one!
